The story
Hello ... I'm Shadé ... Thank you for being interested in my beautiful story!
I was born on April , 2007, in Uccle, Belgium.
I started skating late ... I was already 10 years old.
I took my first lessons with my first coach Kaat Van Daele in October 2017.
In March 2018 I participated in my first competition and I won it.
One month later I won the GOLD MEDAL at the FLANDERS CHAMPIONSHIP in Novice category.
I participated in several competitions where I was always well ranked if I did not win the first place.
When Kaat decided to leave the skating world to devote herself to her family, I was trained by Silvie De Rijcke in Gent, Belgium.
At that moment I wanted to fully dedicate myself to my passion.
Therefore I decided with my family to leave the traditional school to follow the school at home to prepare the central jury.
Progress went fast and in 2019 I joined the TEAM BELGIUM in intermediate novice category. These allowed me to access international and ISU competitions where I could be proud of my results.
In November 2019 I was crowned BELGIAN CHAMPION in Novice category.
... and then the Covid Time arrived ... I was 13, so training was complicated and competitions were suspended in 2020/2021.
In January 2021 I decided with my parents to leave to train in France in the Alps ...
I was then admitted to the Amodio Figure Skating Academy. My new coach became Florent Amodio.
In addition to my Belgian Federation registration I got a license from the French Federation.
In France I quickly obtained the VERMEIL MEDAL corresponding to the French Junior level.
In 2021 I joined the TEAM BELGIUM in advanced novice category.
In February 2022 I won the GOLD MEDAL at the FLANDERS CHAMPIONSHIP, this time in Junior category.
In 2023 I'm in the Top 6 belgian skaters all categories
It was time to change of coach to go even further.
I joined the ISU Center of Excellence in Oberstdorf
February 2024: I joined the TEAM BELGIUM JUNIOR and reached the points for Senio Level
Here is a summary of her progress:
- 2018, March: Shadé participates in her first competition (Antartica Cup) which she won.
- 2018, April: she's crowned Champion of Flanders in Basic Novice category 🥇.
- 2019: she joins the TEAM BElGIUM in Intermediate Novice.
- 2019, November: she wins the Gold Medal at the Belgian Championship in INO category 🥇.
- Covid-time
- 2021: she joins the TEAM BELGIUM in Advanced Novice.
- 2022, February: she is crowned Flanders Junior Champion 🥇.
- 2023: she reaches the TOP 6 ranking belgian skaters all categories
- 2024, February: she joins the TEAM BELGIUM Junior and reaches points for Senior Level
